BREAKFAST AND LUNCH

Day 1: CUSCO – CAPULIYOC – SANTA ROSA

Very early we pick you up at 4 am, from your hotel, make sure you take all your equipment to the Choquequirao trek. Then we will take our tourist transport to go to Cachora in 3 hours of travel, then we will continue 1 more hour in our transport to Capuliyoc (3000 masl) where we will have our breakfast, and it will also be the beginning of our walk. Here we will meet all the team that will accompany us on the walk (muleteers and horses), from Capuliyoc we will have the first view of the archaeological complex of Choquequirao from a distance. We will begin to descend the mountain 2½ hours along a zigzag road, we will pass through small towns such as Cocamasana and Chiquisca (1,800 masl) At this last point it will be our lunch and then continue our walk to the Apurimac River and cross the point of Rosalina Beach ( 1,500 meters above sea level), then we begin to climb uphill for 2½ hours on average until we reach Santa Rosa, our first camp.

Day 2: SANTA ROSA – MARAMPATA – CHOQUEQUIRAO

This will be a day full of adrenaline, to ascend to the Inca city of Choquequirao, after a very energetic breakfast at 6:00 a.m. We will begin our trek to Marampata (3050 masl), 3 hours of climb along a narrow road. During our tour, we will observe the dense vegetation of the tropical rainforest and different species of orchids around the route until we reach Marampata where we will take a short break. Then we continue the 2-hour walk until we reach the archaeological park of Choquequirao, we will visit the different sectors within Choquequirao, such as the sector of lamas and temples in the first part to wait for lunch that our chef will bring to Choquequirao. In the second part, we will arrive at the ceremonial centers. In the afternoon at 4 o’clock if we are lucky we can see the Andean condor flying while the sun is posing in the mountains. At the end of the visit to the different sectors, we will begin the walk back to the camp in Choquequirao.

Day 3: CHOQUEQUIRAO –SANTA ROSA– CHIQUISCA.

Very early we will have our breakfast in Choquequirao where we will watch the sunrise and the flight of the condors. After exploring and visiting the waterfall and the temple of the water we will begin to return to Marampata (3050 masl), place of our lunch where we will take a rest, then we will continue with our 2 hours of walking downhill to the beach of Rosalina and then 40 minutes more to get our third camp arrives at the hamlet of Chiquisca.

Day 4: CHIQUISCA – CAPULIYOC – CUSCO.

On this last day of trekking, we will have an exquisite breakfast very early as at 5 in the morning and then we will start with the 4-hour hike through the mountain to the Capuliyoc pass, on the way we can appreciate the Apurimac canyon again. If we are lucky we will observe Andean condors in the high parts of the mountains, in Capuliyoc we will have our last lunch of the tour, then we will take our tourist transport to return to Cusco and leave it in your respective hotel.
